Scare Scale 1: Creepy crafts!

A fun and creative way to get the whole family involved in Halloween fun. Whether little kids want to make adorable pumpkins or bats, keeping the scare factor to a minimum, or big kids want to make ghosts, ghouls and all things scary, this activity is fully customisable to suit every age and skill level. With just a few spooky supplies and some imagination, everyone can unleash their inner artist and create a haunted masterpiece. Grab your glue, gather your ghosts, let’s get creepy crafting!

Scare Scale 2: Spooky treats and daring drinks!

Scoring a scare scale of 2 is the beloved Halloween tradition of baking! With two delectable ideas including a monstrous sweet treat plus a drink to wash it down, you're in for a real treat (or trick) with these delightfully spooky creations. Easy to make and terrifyingly tasty, these ideas will have your little ones feeling festive in no time!

Sweet treat: Monster cookies!

What you need: Circular biscuits of your choice, eg hobnobs, Nutella, mini marshmallows, black icing.

How to make: Simply take a cookie, add a dollop of Nutella and place the other biscuit on top to make a sandwich. Cut the mini marshmallows into triangles and place them between to the two biscuits to make teeth and cut one marshmallow in half to make the eyes. Dot the eyes with the black icing and voila! A spooky but sweat treat awaits!

Drink: Magic Potions!

What you need: Fizzy drink of your choice, ice cream and food colouring (optional)

How to make: Transform your favorite fizzy drink into a ghoulishly good potion with just a dollop of delicious ice cream! It’s super easy, simply pour your drink into a glass and add the ice cream for a fun twist. To jazz it up, get creative with decorations to match your concoction: pour orange Fanta into a pumpkin decorated glass or add a splash of green food coloring to Sprite for a Frankenstein-inspired drink. The possibilities are endless!

Scare Scale 3: A spooky spin!

We all love pin the tail on the donkey, but why not add a totally terrifying twist on this family favourite game in time for Halloween? Taking the place on scare scale 3 is 'pin the spider on the web', a spooky, scary yet fun game for everyone - but maybe not for those afraid of spiders! Simply print and cut out a web and its spider friend (or even buy one online to save time) then gather your ghouls for hours of fearsome fun and laughter. It's time for some spine-tingling competition!

Bonus tip: To make it spookier for the big, brave kids, or even adults, dim the lights, pop on some eerie music, blindfold them up and watch them take on the spooky spider and it's worrisome web.

Scare Scale 4: A monstrous movie night

Gather your little witches and wizards because it’s time for a spooktacular Halloween movie night! Transform your living room into a cozy haunted hideaway with blankets, pillows, and twinkling lights for that eerie ambiance. Prepare some fang-tastic food like creepy cakes, spooky snacks or even make the terrifying treats back in scare scale 2! The best part of a Halloween move night? There are endless movies to choose from, whether you want something kid friendly or something extra eerie for the adults. To make move night that bit easier, we've collated our top 5 Halloween family films for you to choose from:

2. Halloweentown

3. Coraline
